Asier Guenetxea’s Kaiku-Gurelesa jersey reflects the cyclist’s early amateur career in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Gurelesa, a food cooperative, co-sponsored a youth team alongside Kaiku, where Guenetxea established himself as one of the Basque region’s rising stars, going on to win major races as an amateur. The jersey features the logos of local companies and evokes the Under-23 races in which Guenetxea excelled. On display in the museum, it represents the symbiosis between agri-food cooperatives and grassroots sport in the Basque Country, the cradle of champions.
