Another Euskaltel-Euskadi jersey, belonging to Amets Txurruka, is on display, complementing the one presented previously, to highlight different aspects of his career and that of the team. Whilst the first jersey recounted his early days and fighting spirit in 2007, this second one dates from 2012, Txurruka’s final season with Euskaltel. By then, Amets was already an established and charismatic rider, recognised by the fans as the eternal fighter. In the 2012 Vuelta a España, Txurruka wore the mountains classification jersey for several stages thanks to his breakaways — it was one of his best overall performances — although a rival eventually snatched it from him in the final days. Nevertheless, that provisional achievement earned him, once again, recognition for his fighting spirit. The philosophy embodied by this 2012 jersey is that of the maturity of a rider true to his style: Txurruka continued to attack and give his all even as Euskaltel shifted towards signing foreign riders (which happened in 2013 and left Amets out of the team).
