The pink jersey of the ONCE of the Tour de France with the name of Igor González de Galdeano places us at the beginning of the 2000s, when the Alavese was leader and reference of the team. Galdeano, an elite counterclockmaker, achieved a 5th place in the 2001 and 2002 Tour, wearing the yellow jersey for seven days in 2002 thanks to the victory of ONCE at the CRE that year. Also won the Vuelta al País Vasco 1999 and got bronze in the world time trial in 2002. The pink garment of the ONCE displayed reflects its era of splendor: Igor took over after Jalabert’s retirement and kept the team among the best. His presence at the museum recognizes the brilliance of his career and his contribution to the successes of ONCE.
